I did find it by clicking perl, but was confused for a bit! I found your post because I was having trouble installing Bundle::CPAN via CPAN.pm. Even now, it was trying to grab a 1.94xx which still had too long of pathnames. I manually downloaded 1.9452 from cpan.org, installed it, and then was able to properly use CPAN.pm. So I'm good now.
